Faculty/Staff

Our Core & Program Faculty hold Masters and Doctorate degrees from regionally accredited colleges, universities, seminaries, and theological schools. They have taught, are eligible to teach, or are still teaching in regionally accredited colleges, universities, seminaries, and theological schools.

How do online classes work?

You can access course materials, view lectures, and complete assignments at your own pace.

Occasionally, instructors will call for a “Live Session,” a time-sensitive event. We try to note this in the classroom and time it around your schedule. You will be given access to Zoom rooms for synchronous events.

How long does a course last?

Courses begin upon enrollment or a stated date. All courses have end dates. All 3-credit courses (except DTM courses) may be completed in as little as 30 days and must be completed in 90 days. All 6-credit courses (except DTM courses) may be completed in as little as 60 days and must be completed in 120  days. All 3-credit DTM courses may be completed in as little as 60 days and must be completed in 90 days. All 6-credit DTM courses may be completed in as little as 90 days and must be completed in 120 days. All 12-credit DTM courses may be completed in as little as 120 days and must be completed in 365 days. Students may request 30, 60, & 90-day course extensions. A grade of incomplete will be recorded 30 days after the end date of a course. A grade of F will replace incomplete grades 60 days after the end date of a course.  A new course registration will be required for all courses receiving an F under this policy.

How can I take a break from my courses?

  • NTS requires students to maintain Active Student Status by enrolling in the monthly student Fee for their degree.
     

  • NTS considers a student's Active Student Status stopped if the student cancels the Monthly Student Fee for their degree.
     

  • NTS requires Inactive students to re-apply to their degree program

Medical Leave:

Students may request a Medical Leave and return to their studies at a future date. During the approved leave, the monthly student fee will be canceled. To request a Medical Leave, the student must submit the required form by the published due date.

To return from a Medical Leave, the student submits the required form and restarts the monthly student fee by the published due date. (A medical release from the student's doctor may be required)

 

Leave of Absence:
Students taking NTS Degree may request one Leave of Absence (1-4 months duration) per calendar year after completing their current course and before enrolling in their next course. During the approved leave, the monthly student fee will be canceled.

 

Students taking a KU Degree may request one Leave of Absence (3 months duration) per calendar year after completing their current course and before enrolling in their next course. During the approved leave, the monthly student fee will be canceled.

 

To request a Leave of Absence, the student must submit the required form by the published due date.

 

To return from a Leave of Absence, the student submits the required form and restarts the monthly student fee by the published due date.

 

Reinstatement:

Students who pause their degree program without an approved leave will be required to re-apply for admission, pay a reinstatement fee, forfeit their scholarship, and pay the current rate of tuition.

When can I Enroll? Is There a Deadline for Enrollment?

You may start your course at any time. 

How Do I Enroll?

Seminary Courses require an application to the Seminary.

Admitted Students are assigned a password to their enrollment page accessed from ENROLL page on the MENU Bar.

How can I access my course?

 

Your course will appear in My Programs in the Login bar after payment for your course is received.

 

We have scaled our courses so that you can access your courses(s) on your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

 

 

Are there prerequisites?

 

Northwind Seminary does not require students to have a denominational affiliation.

Most Seminary Courses do not have prerequisites.
(Except for select degree programs that have specific prerequisites)

 

 

What are the course costs?

Are Textbooks Included?

 

Textbook costs are not included in your tuition unless otherwise noted.

 

All textbooks are available for purchase online at Amazon.com. Most texts are available in a digital format and can be viewed by downloading the FREE Kindle App to your device of choice.

 

Textbooks are also available directly from the publisher. Be sure to visit each program's textbook page for specific text information to learn more about its publisher, availability, formats, and price.

The choice is yours!

System Requirements - are there any?

You will need access to the internet.

There will be no other software programs that you have to purchase to complete Northwind Courses. Any programs you may need access to are FREE and available online.


It will be noted in the classroom if you need access to programs like Zoom, Kindle, or YouTube.

You will need access to a word processing program to write and upload your papers and documents to complete course requirements.

Seminary Graduation

 

Students must complete a Seminary Graduation request form, which can be accessed on the STUDENT Page from the MENU Bar.

  • There is an option for a Virtual Graduation Ceremony.

  • Diplomas are mailed to the student with an Official Transcript.
